Six-Word Memoirs of Summer

Welcome to your classroom blog spot!  This is a site where you will be writing and responding to questions, readings and videos.

For our first post, I would love to hear what you have been doing this summer!

But can you write it in only 6 words?

Legend has it that Earnest Hemingway once was asked to write his life story in just 6 words.  This is what he said: "For Sale: baby shoes, never worn." What do you think happened in his life?

Here are some examples that other people have done.

Write a Six-Word Memoirs about your adventures, trips, and activities you did this summer.

Follow these guidelines:

1. Be specific.

2. Don't use simple adjectives like "sad." Instead use words like "melancholy."

3. Pick moments worthy of memoir (birth of another sibling, loss of first tooth, etc.)

4. Make every word count. Dont put in "I" or prepositions (a, the, on. over, below...)
